Passage 35The Goose with the Golden Eggs
There is an old man and an old woman. They havea goose. It is a very special goose. Every day it has agolden egg.
They sell the eggs for a lot of money. But, the moremoney they have, the more they want. They think, "Ourgoose has golden eggs, it must be made of gold. Let uscut it open and get out all the gold. Then we will havemore money.'
So they kill the goose but find no gold. When they cut their goose open,they see that it is just like any other geese.
After that there are no more golden eggs, so they do not get any moremoney.
In the end they have nothing.
